WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
The first matchup of the day will also be the most anticipated one, as the two teams with the best records in the league will go head-to-head. The Lynx sit at the top of the Western Conference with a 26-5 mark and are on the heels of a four-game winning run, while the Liberty have won three straight to bolster their record to an East-best 20-10. There are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to adding players to your lineups for this game. However, with both teams expected to be missing key players, such as Napheesa Collier (ankle) and Breanna Stewart (knee), names such as Sabrina Ionescu, Kayla McBride and Courtney Williams could carry even more fantasy value.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
Two struggling teams will collide in the second game of the matchup, with the Wings hosting the Mystics. Both teams enter this game on four-game losing skids. Dallas has the worst record in the Western Conference with a disappointing 8-23 mark, but the team has some interesting pieces to build around, mainly rookie Paige Bueckers. She's trending in the right direction toward being available Sunday. Between Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale, the Wings have two players who could be solid targets for most lineups. The Mystics can also rely on their rookie duo of Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, but they have been the few bright spots of a team that has gone 13-17 this season, good for fourth place in the East standings. Heading into this matchup, Dallas has lost three in a row at home, and Washington has dropped four straight on the road.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
This is a battle of two teams that enter this matchup with identical records (19-11). The Mercury have been trending in the right direction of late and enter this on the heels of a three-game winning streak after their 95-60 win over the Fever, and one standout performer during this stretch has been Alyssa Thomas. The versatile forward has been a triple-double machine of late and should be one of the most popular players in this five-game slate. As for the Dream, they've been playing even better than Phoenix and have won four straight after their 86-65 victory over the Sky. Players worth keeping close tabs on in the Dream roster ahead of this five-game slate are Allisha Gray and Brionna Jones, while Brittney Griner and Rhyne Howard could also be worth a look if they end up snapping long-term absences.
Seattle Storm
at Los Angeles Sparks
Line: Storm -3.0

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
The Storm have been struggling in recent weeks and enter this game on a four-game losing streak, a negative run that is tied for the longest in the Western Conference. Despite the recent woes, Seattle has several players who could be helpful in most fantasy slates. Names such as Skylar Diggins, Ezi Magbegor, Erica Wheeler and Nneka Ogwumike are worth keeping close tabs on. The Sparks saw the end of their three-game winning run Saturday in a disappointing 72-59 loss to the Valkyries. The recent form should give the Sparks some love ahead of this game, but playing on the second leg of a back-to-back could hurt a Sparks roster that isn't necessarily known for its depth. Dearica Hamby and Kelsey Plum are probably the best Sparks options to anchor a lineup in this slate, and both should be gunning for a bounce-back performance following Saturday's poor showing.
Connecticut Sun
at Las Vegas Aces
Line: Aces -12.0

Las Vegas
Cheyenne Parker-Tyus | F | Not Injury Related | OUT | 9/4/2025 |
WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
It's not a surprise to see the Aces as the biggest favorite of the entire five-game slate. They enter this game against the Sun on a three-game winning run and sitting in third place in the Western Conference with a 17-14 record, so they seem to be trending in the right direction. The play of A'ja Wilson has been outstanding for Las Vegas, and the star center should have another favorable matchup here against a struggling Connecticut. It's hard to single out any Sun player who might be due for a big outing since the team is expected to be overmatched. The Sun have lost three games in a row and four of their last five while posting a league-worst 5-24 record.
WNBA DFS Picks Today
DraftKings:
DraftKings has plenty of offers for Sunday's slate with five different options to play. A complete slate with four games that excludes the Lynx vs. Liberty matchup, another with two games (Storm vs. Sparks and Sun vs. Aces), and three game-specific slates: Lynx vs. Liberty (12.30 PM ET), Sun vs. Aces (9 PM ET), and another one for the Connecticut vs. Las Vegas battle but with a "Snake" format. Here are the players worth targeting in DraftKings:
- Alyssa Thomas ($12,300)
- A'ja Wilson ($12,200)
- Sabrina Ionescu ($11,200)
There isn't a player delivering more value in fantasy right now than Thomas. The star forward has been anchoring the Mercury of late and has been on a roll with three straight triple-doubles. She recorded 18 points (8-12 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals across 30 minutes during Thursday's 95-60 victory over the Fever en route to becoming the first player in WNBA history to post three straight triple-doubles. Thomas is averaging 17.4 points, 11.6 rebounds and 8.4 assists per contest since the All-Star break.
Wilson hasn't been as dominant as Thomas, but there's no doubt that the star center is finally hitting her stride after a slow start to the season -- at least for her lofty standards. The center racked up 29 points (11-24 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-8 FT), 12 rebounds and three assists across 35 minutes during Friday's 90-86 win over the Storm, and that result extended Las Vegas' winning run to three contests. She has 13 double-doubles on the season and is averaging a strong line of 20.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game since the All-Star break. Perhaps more importantly, she hasn't missed a single game in that span.
Ionescu underwent a tough stretch earlier this year, mainly between late June and early July, but the star floor general has turned things around lately. And honestly, was there any doubt that she was going to accomplish that? Ionescu finished with 16 points (5-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block across 29 minutes during Friday's 88-77 win over the Wings. She's delivered outstanding numbers since the All-Star break and is averaging a robust line of 22.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game over his previous nine appearances.
Unlocking Value: WNBA DFS Sleeper Picks
- Kiki Iriafen ($7,800)
- Leila Lacan ($5,700)
- Emma Meesseman ($3,800)
FanDuel:
FanDuel offers four different slates for Sunday's action: one featuring all five games, one exclusive for the Lynx vs. Liberty matchup (12:30 PM ET), one for the Mystics vs. Wings game (4 PM ET) and a "Main" one that includes the three games that have individual slates.
Players such as Thomas, Wilson and Ionescu are among the most expensive options in FanDuel and should be locks to anchor any lineup, although it'll depend on which slate you choose. Here are other players worth targeting in FanDuel:
- Allisha Gray ($7,500)
- Paige Bueckers ($7,500)
- Dearica Hamby ($7,400)
Gray has been outstanding for the Dream of late, and she's on a streak of three straight outings scoring more than 20 points. The star guard finished with 25 points (9-15 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block across 34 minutes during Thursday's 86-65 win over the Sky. Her consistency has been elite this season, and she's reached the 25-point mark in eight different games this season. The Dream have a tough matchup against the Mercury, but if they want to pull the upset, then Gray will need to be at her best once again.
Bueckers is nursing a back injury but is probable for Sunday's game against the Mystics. If she plays, she should handle her regular workload in the backcourt while probably operating as Dallas' go-to option on offense. The star rookie has averaged 20.2 points, 5.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals across 33.4 minutes per game in her last five appearances. Even though she'll carry a hefty price tag, she's more than worth every penny spent on her. She's perfectly capable of anchoring a lineup.
While the smart move would be to not trust many Sparks players due to the fact that they'll be playing on the second leg of a back-to-back set, it's worth noting that Hamby could still be a valuable option. She finished with 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, an assist and a steal across 27 minutes in Saturday's 72-59 loss to the Valkyries. Her consistency has been elite, as the star forward has now scored at least 15 points in each of her last 10 appearances.

- Luisa Geiselsoder ($5,400)
- DiJonai Carrington ($5,300)
- Dominique Malonga ($4,800)
