FanDuel MLB: Wednesday Targets

FanDuel MLB: Wednesday Targets

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Wednesday's main slate of games starts at 6:10 p.m. EDT. There's a nice six-game slate to choose from; just pay attention to the weather.

Pitching

Aaron Civale vs. CWS ($10,200): Civale is at the top of the food chain as far as pitcher salaries go. However, it's a small slate and there's no reason to tempt fate and deviate here in cash games. Civale is at home and has been consistent with at least 37 fantasy points in each of his first three starts.

Corey Kluber, vs. ATL ($6,500): Here is my favorite GPP play of the day. Kluber is a wild card who is capable of putting up a negative number but also could put up 40-plus FanDuel points with a low roster rate. Atlanta isn't an ideal matchup but again, that should keep Kluber's popularity pretty low.

Top Targets

J.D. Martinez vs. TOR ($4,400): Martinez comes into this game on fire, safely reaching base in seven straight games. The Blue Jays have yet to announce who they are sending to the mound (throwing to the wolves might be more accurate), so there's not much expectation on that front. Martinez is an easy cash game choice.

Vladimir Guerrero at BOS ($4,000): Sticking with the same game (bettors might like the over here, hint, hint), Guerrero has as much upside as anyone swinging the bat these days. Garrett Richards is a pitcher to prey upon and not be afraid of.

Value Bats

Amed Rosario vs. CWS ($2,000): Look, he's at the minimum salary and has reached base in five straight games. He qualifies at shortstop and all he needs to do to provide value is put up basically any points at all. Rosario has reached base safely in each of his last four games and had a minimum of 6.2 fantasy points in each of those contests.

Yandy Diaz at KC ($2,400): Diaz got a day off Tuesday and should be refocused at the plate. He's in a good RBI spot and no one fears it when Jakob Junis takes the mound. This is likely the cheapest cleanup hitter you can roster for this slate of games.

Stacks To Consider

Blue Jays at Richards: Guerrero, Bo Bichette ($3,300), Randal Grichuk ($2,900), Cavan Biggio ($2,700)

I'm going to continue with the Richards bashing here despite him giving up only two runs in his last two starts (10 innings). In my mind this means he's due to get beat up and the Blue Jays have just the lineup to do that. All four of these hitters are capable of going deep and I'd be shocked if at least one of them doesn't do that tonight.

Mets at Zach Davies: Pete Alonso ($3,500), Francisco Lindor ($3,200), Brandon Nimmo ($3,000), Michael Conforto ($2,700)

You probably aren't going to find a better salary on Lindor all season. Davies has a 10.32 ERA in three outings this season and he simply might not be a viable starting pitching option for an MLB team. Watch the weather report and hope the wind is blowing out at Wrigley Field tonight.
