Yahoo DFS Basketball: Wednesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

We have six games in the NBA on Wednesday, most of which aren't exactly exciting matchups. Let's try to add a spark to the night with a winning entry on Yahoo. Here are some players to target for your lineup, as well as a few to possibly avoid.

GUARDS

Russell Westbrook, HOU at POR ($49): The important news to monitor for this game is the status of James Harden (thigh), who is listed as questionable. He's already missed two games with the ailment. If he's out again, then Westbrook could have a monster outing. Even if Harden does play, this is a favorable spot to deploy Westbrook. He's scored at least 49.9 Yahoo points in seven straight games, which included a game against the Blazers in which he scored 64.2 Yahoo points even with Harden healthy.

Tomas Satoransky, CHI at IND ($14): The Bulls are searching for someone to take some of the scoring pressure off of Zach LaVine now that Lauri Markkanen (pelvis) is out. Could Satoransky be part of the solution? He has scored at least 13 points in back-to-back contests while also dishing out at least six assists and recording at least two steals in both games. At this cheap price, he could provide excellent value if he continues to have an expanded role within the Bulls' offense.

Guard to Avoid

Dejounte Murray, SA vs. UTA ($17): Consistency is not one of Murray's strengths. He has produced a few strong performances lately, but he's also scored 13.1 Yahoo points or fewer in three of his last six contests. With the Jazz sporting the seventh-best defensive rating in the league, this is not an ideal matchup for Murray to be able to produce one of his finer stat lines.

FORWARDS

Domantas Sabonis, IND vs. CHI ($41): Sabonis destroyed the Blazers on Sunday, posting a triple-double on his way to 60.3 Yahoo points. He was able to take advantage of their lack of size up front outside of Hassan Whiteside. Now he'll face a Bulls team that is deploying Luke Kornet and Cristiano Felicio at center because of injuries. That leaves him with a tremendously high ceiling.

Eric Gordon, HOU at POR ($19): With Harden and Westbrook both out Monday against the Jazz, Gordon exploded for 50 points in an upset victory on the road. If Harden is out again for this game, Gordon should once again see added scoring opportunities. Even if Harden plays, Gordon is still someone to consider since he has scored at least 28.1 Yahoo points in four straight contests.

Forward to Avoid

Joe Ingles, UTA at SA ($19): Although Mike Conley Jr. still isn't playing much, his return has had an impact on Ingles' production. Ingles hasn't scored more than 27.8 Yahoo points in any of the five games. He logged 33 minutes against the Rockets on Monday, but still came away with only 15.4 Yahoo points. While his price is coming down, his limited upside still makes him an unappealing option.

CENTERS

Andre Drummond, DET at BKN ($49): Drummond is questionable for this matchup with a left wrist sprain. If he plays, this is an ideal matchup against a Nets team that has major problems slowing down opposing centers. When these two teams met Saturday, Drummond recorded 53.2 Yahoo points. If he isn't able to play, then you could pivot to Christian Wood ($14). He might not start in Drummond's place, but the increase in playing time would make him an ideal value play option.

Luke Kornet, CHI at IND ($11): If Drummond is out, Wood is the clear top cheap center option on the slate. However, if Drummond does play, the rest of the options aren't that great. If you do want to take a chance in tournament play, Kornet is someone to at least consider. He logged 31 minutes against the Spurs on Monday, scoring 32.3 Yahoo points in the process. Expect to him to see plenty of action in this game, as well, based on the Pacers' size up front.

Center to Avoid

Steven Adams, OKC at SAC ($20): Adams doesn't look right. After missing two games with an ankle injury, he has only logged 23 and 24 minutes, respectively, across two games since making his return. Thunder coach Billy Donovan acknowledged that he is still battling through the injury, so there is a possibility that he sees limited playing time in this contest, as well. He's not overly cheap, so taking a chance on him might not be wise.
