Hamilton is expected to leave Mercedes at the end of 2024 and join Charles Leclerc
at Ferrari for the 2025 F1 season, Sky Sports
This is truly one of the biggest moves in the history of F1. Hamilton is the most successful driver F1 history with 103 victories, 104 pole positions and 7 World Championships, the large majority of which coming during these last 11 seasons at Mercedes. Hamilton will take the seat of Carlos Sainz, who has long been rumored to be leaving after the 2024 season. Details of Hamilton's contract should be announced in the coming months, the most interesting of which is how long the deal will be for the 39-year-old. Ferrari is still the most iconic brand in the sport, but has not won a Constructors Championship since 2008 and not had a Drivers Champion since Kimi Raikkonen
in 2007. It will be interesting to see how Hamilton gets on at Mercedes in 2024 with everyone knowing he is out the door at the end of the season. In the Max Verstappen
era of dominance, Hamilton has gone the last two seasons without a victory, something that had never previously happened to him in any season since he started in F1 in 2007 with McLaren.
