DraftKings College Football: Breakdown for Dec. 26

This article is part of our DraftKings College Football series.

The following breakdown is for DraftKings' Saturday bowl game slate.

QB

Nate Sudfeld – Indiana vs. Duke ($6,600)

Indiana-Duke is a game with a three-point spread on a 71.5-point over/under, so that should definitely get your attention. Indeed, my quarterback exposure on this slate will not extend past this game. On one side we have Sudfeld, an accomplished senior quarterback who had a dominant 2015 season, throwing for roughly 290 yards and two touchdowns per game while running for five touchdowns in 11 games. With Duke safety Jeremy Cash out, Sudfeld gets a crack at a wounded Duke secondary.

Thomas Sirk – Duke vs. Indiana ($7,200)

On the other side of the game we have Sirk, who might be owned slightly less than Sudfeld due to costing $600 more and the tendency of Duke to occasionally rotate in backup quarterback Parker Boehme, especially in the red zone. Even if Boehme steals some snaps, however, Sirk should hit value against an Indiana defense that just can't stop anything. With dual-threat skills, Sirk has more upside than any quarterback on this slate.

RB

Myles Gaskin – Washington vs. Southern Mississippi ($5,900)

Gaskin doesn't contribute as a pass catcher, but his rushing workload alone should provide a strong return against Southern Mississippi. Southern Miss quarterback Nick Mullens could implode against Washington's intimidating defense, and the Huskies should see short fields as a result, granting Gaskin touchdown opportunities. Given that he ran for 928 yards (5.6 YPC) and seven touchdowns in nine Pac-12 games this year, there's little reason to think Southern Miss would be able to slow Gaskin.

Travon McMillian – Virginia Tech vs. Tulsa ($6,900)

McMillian was quite effective for the Hokies this year, running for 737 yards and five touchdowns in the final seven games. As the clear lead runner for a run-heavy team projected to score about 38 points, McMillian ought to finish strong against Tulsa. Like Gaskin, McMillian doesn't really contribute as a receiver, but he ought to do enough damage as a runner alone against a Tulsa defense that allowed 5.2 yards per carry and 32 rushing touchdowns in 12 games this year.

Honorable mention: Jordan Howard - Indiana vs. Duke ($7,800), Joseph Yearby - Miami (FL) vs. Washington State ($6,000), Shaquille Powell - Duke vs. Indiana ($4,200)

WR

Isaiah Ford – Virginia Tech vs. Tulsa ($5,200)

Virginia Tech is projected to score roughly 38 points, and Ford is far and away the team's leading pass catcher. A lack of receiver depth at Virginia Tech forced the Hokies to play Ford almost every snap in any given game and, when you combine that game-planning prominence with Ford's standout talent, you have a great cash game play every week. In a game where Tech faces an especially vulnerable defense, Ford is a strong play in cash games and tournaments both.

Simmie Cobbs – Indiana vs. Duke ($5,000)

Cobbs has overtaken Ricky Jones as the clear lead receiver in the Indiana offense, making him one of the top receiver plays on this slate. At 6-foot-4, 212 pounds, Cobbs is the Hoosiers' best bet to produce in the red zone and between the 20s alike. Projected to score 37 or 38 points, Indiana figures to be one of the fantasy goldmines in this slate, and Cobbs has the profile of a passing game workhorse after catching 32 passes for 597 yards and two touchdowns in the last six games.

Oh, and as our ACC Assassin Chris Bennett pointed out, Duke wideouts T.J. Rahming ($3,900) and Anthony Nash ($3,400) are superb bargain targets on the other side of this game!

Honorable mention: Gabe Marks – Washington State vs. Miami (FL) ($6,800), Dom Williams – Washington State vs. Miami (FL) ($5,600), Thomas Duarte – UCLA vs. Nebraska ($5,100), Stacy Coley – Miami (FL) vs. Washington State ($4,600), Mitchell Paige – Indiana vs. Duke ($4,600), Ricky Jones – Indiana vs. Duke ($4,500), Jaydon Mickens – Washington vs. Southern Mississippi ($4,200), T.J. Rahming ($3,900), Anthony Nash ($3,400)
