WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The first matchup of the night is a showdown between one team making a push to the top of the WNBA standings and another that is making a push into the playoff picture.

Golden State enters the game on a bit of an up-and-down stretch over the last 10 games, but is sitting right in the heart of the playoff picture with a record of 11-13, though it has gone 4-6 over the last 10. The Valkyries have surprised some this season, in part due to the somewhat unexpected performance thus far. One thing that has recently hurt Golden State is the season-ending knee injury to Kayla Thornton, who had been the Valkyries' leading scorer until her injury. Without Thornton, others have had to step up. One name that should take a step up is Tiffany Hayes, who has had a nice season thus far. Janelle Salaun and Iliana Rupert have played lately, averaging double-figures over the last two games.

Atlanta had a nice season thus far, having been a top-five team in the WNBA all year while owning a two-game winning streak following a nice victory over the league-leading Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. Part of the success of the Dream has been due to their two-way play, ranking third in the WNBA in offensive rating and sixth in defensive rating entering Tuesday. Allisha Gray has continued to play well and lead Atlanta, which should continue against Golden State, but look for Brittney Griner to have a nice showing as well Tuesday. Over Atlanta's winning streak, Griner has averaged 19.5 points and 6.0 assists over the last two games. Griner has another favorable matchup against the Valkyries, so she's worth adding to your lineups as well.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The second game of the tripleheader features a contest between two teams that have been dealing with the injury bug lately and will have to test their depth as a result on Tuesday.

Chicago has continued its slide down the WNBA standings out of the All-Star break, currently in 12th in the standings and just a few games ahead of the league-worst Connecticut Sun. The Sky currently own the league's longest losing streak, entering Tuesday on a five-game skid. Chicago is already without its leading scorer, Ariel Atkins, and could be without a few other key pieces with the question marks surrounding Hailey Van Lith (ankle) and Michaela Onyenwere (knee). With injuries flooding the Sky, that could mean that players like Kamilla Cardoso, Elizabeth Williams and even Rachel Banham could get larger roles and be relied upon even more.

Washington has been one of the surprises of the season thus far, sitting right in the heart of the playoff picture behind strong play by its young squad. The Mystics are hanging onto the final postseason spot, but they are just a few games away from rising as far as the fifth spot in the standings. A player that has and will continue to shine for Washington is Brittney Sykes, who leads the team in scoring and is also a strong defensive presence. Behind her, rookies Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen will play a role as they have all year, and we should expect them to take advantage of an injury-filled Sky squad Tuesday night.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

To round out the night, one of the most talented rosters in the WNBA will square off against the hottest team in the league on NBA TV.

Las Vegas entered the season viewed as one of the top teams in the league but hasn't quite lived up to its hype so far in 2025. The Aces will likely figure things out and get better in the coming weeks, sitting toward the bottom of the playoff picture with the hopes of improving that placement. If you can afford A'ja Wilson's price point in your lineups, you need to add her due to her MVP-level of play as of late. The guard duo of Jackie Young and Jewell Loyd is also a good option if you're looking for a cheaper option, with Young averaging just under 15 points over the last five games and Loyd looking to be finding her rhythm with her new team and seeing her productivity improve as a result.

Los Angeles has been the hottest team in the league as of late, entering Tuesday on a WNBA-best five-game winning streak. And better news for the Sparks? Cameron Brink, who has yet to appear in a game this season while recovering from an ACL tear last year, is set to make her season debut. Though Brink will likely be on somewhat of a minutes restriction or at least will be monitored, it's worth taking a chance on adding a talent like her to your lineups. A few players that could benefit even more from the presence of Brink in the paint are players like Kelsey Plum, Los Angeles' leading scorer, and Dearica Hamby, who has averaged just under 21 points in the last five games. Plum will be facing off against her old team, which will likely result in a spark (no pun intended) during the game.

Plum has played great as of late, and she will likely have a bit of extra motivation Tuesday against her former team in Las Vegas. Plum always seems to step up in these types of games, so it's worth taking a chance on her in your lineups. Gray has been the leader for Atlanta all season, and she should step up Tuesday against Golden State, especially with Rhyne Howard still out. Sykes not only provides a boost offensively as Washington's leading scorer, but she also provides great value on the defensive end, which is a nice addition for DFS lineups.

Value Plays

DraftKings

Young has been the best player for Las Vegas not named A'ja Wilson, and she will likely be fired up for Tuesday's game while going against a friend and former teammate, Kelsey Plum. Expect another strong showing from Young against Los Angeles. Austin has been a key contributor for Washington this season, but her play over the last five games has turned things up a notch, entering Tuesday with a team-leading 15.2 points over the last five outings. Cardoso has stepped up for Chicago as of late, and if Angel Reese isn't playing — and maybe even if Reese does play — Cardoso is worth taking a chance on strictly due to her recent performances.
