FanDuel MLB: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Carlos Martinez, STL at CIN ($10,000) – Martinez doesn't have a great matchup, as the Reds are a top-10 team in wOBA against righties this season, but he has been locked in for a few weeks now. Martinez has posted seven or more strikeouts in four of his past five starts and has earned more than 40 fantasy in each of his past six.

Catcher

Tyler Flowers, ATL vs PHI ($2,800) – Flowers has been a nice surprise this season, as he continues to produce at a high rate. Through 39 games, Flowers has maintained a .365 average and the good news is, he's done most of his damage against righties. He gets a crack at righty Nick Pivetta, who has struggled to the tune of a 5.12 ERA. Also, Flowers leads all active Braves in wOBA against righties this season at .417.

First Base

Marwin Gonzalez, HOU at KC ($4,300) – The Astros face Ian Kennedy, who has really struggled over his past four starts in surrenderng 18 runs in just over 14 innings. Gonzalez leads the potent Astros lineup in wOBA against righties this season at .464, which is good for seventh in the majors.

Second Base

Cesar Hernandez, PHI at ATL ($3,100) – The Braves aren't the only team that should be excited about this matchup, as the Phillies get a crack at Bartolo Colon, who has been just awful over the past month. Colon enters with a 6.99 ERA and he hasn't allowed less than seven hits in any of his past eight starts, most of which have been less than five-inning outings. Hernandez is second on the team in wOBA against righties this season and he's been Philly's best hitter over the last month.

Shortstop

Carlos Correa, HOU at KC ($4,300) – While the entire lineup has caught fire, no player has been hotter than Correa, who is averaging 25.3 fantasy points per game over his past six. Correa has also fared well against righties this season with a .399 wOBA, which is second on the team behind Gonzalez.

Third Base

Jedd Gyorko, STK at CIN ($3,600)Asher Wojciechowski takes the hill for the Reds and he'll hope to put his most recent start behind him quickly. Wojciechowski surrendered four runs in four innings at Toronto, and while we don't have enough of a track record to call him "bad", he's worth targeting with a mini stack. Gyorko should be at the top of that stack as he holds the highest wOBA against righties on the Cardinals roster at .417, which is good for 19th in the majors.

Outfield

Matt Kemp, ATL vs PHI ($3,900) – Without Freddie Freeman, the Braves aren't typically a good team to stack, but they've hit the ball well as a team lately and have a nice matchup against Pivetta, as mentioned earlier. Kemp is second among active Brave hitters with a .410 wOBA against righties this season.

Jorge Bonifacio, KC vs HOU ($3,000) – Fiers pitched pretty well in his most recent start against the Twins, but we'll have to see if he can keep it up going forward. Until then, I'll continue to target opposing hitters with power, like Bonifacio, who has seven long balls this season. Bonifacio also leads the Royals in wOBA against righties at .404.

Kyle Schwarber, CHC vs MIA ($2,900) – There aren't many hitters with Schwarber's upside for less than $3K and we saw his upside this past weekend against the Cardinals when he homered in two games, one of which was a grand slam.
