DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Ben Bishop, DAL vs, LA ($7,800): The Kings have been in a tailspin for the past month and a half and enter Tuesday's contest with an active 6-10-2 record while scoring just 2.31 goals and generating only 9.9 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes during the slump. Bishop sports a 16-6-1 record, .931 save percentage and 2.06 GAA through 24 home games this season, so this salary checks out as a strong value in the soft matchup.

CENTER

Jack Eichel, BUF vs. NJ ($6,900): The pivot is one outing removed from a seven-game point streak consisting of five goals, 14 points and 34 shots. The Devils are starting backup Keith Kinkaid, who owns a target-worthy .892 save percentage for the campaign and is just returning from a groin injury. Additionally, considering Eichel's current form and go-to role (20:15 with 3:34 on the power play), his price is manageable.

Aleksander Barkov, FLA at NYI ($6,900): Sporting a three-game point drought, Barkov lands in the ideal matchup for a bounce-back showing. He's recorded a solid 2.51 points per hour this season, and the Islanders allow the most goals (3.53) and fourth most high-danger scoring chances (12.58) per 60 minutes in the league.

WING

Mikko Rantanen, COL at VAN ($6,200): The third-year pro has been a pillar of consistency for a prolonged stretch with 10 goals, 17 assists and 61 shots through his past 24 games. The hot stretch aligns with his assignment next to Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog in all situations, as the trio has combined for an elite 5.44 goals per 60 minutes this season. There's also nothing scary about the matchup, as the Canucks enter with an active 5-14-2 record while allowing 3.81 goals per hour during the skid.

Jordan Eberle, NYI vs. FLA ($5,700): Florida is starting Harri Sateri, and it will be just the third start of his NHL career, so this projects as a strong matchup for the Islanders. Eberle is in excellent form with three goals, 10 points and 21 shots through his past eight games, and he's also combined with center Mathew Barzal for 4.22 goals per 60 minutes this season. The winger's price has plenty of profit room.

Kevin Labanc, SAN at PIT ($3,700): Projected to skate on a new-look line with Logan Couture and Timo Meier, Labanc is an intriguing value. The 22-year-old winger has posted a respectable 2.54 points per 60 minutes this season, and he's proven to be an elite scorer at the lower levels. The Penguins also continue to allow plenty of high-danger scoring chances with 11.37 per 60 minutes through 25 games since Dec. 1 and 11.46 for the campaign.

DEFENSE

Erik Karlsson, OTT at CAR ($5,800): With just a single goal through his past seven games, Karlsson's salary has plummeted into value territory. He's obviously underachieving, but with 14 shots, 12 blocked shots and an average of 26:24 of ice time (3:10 on the power play) during the slump, there's still a nice fantasy floor for his offense to build on. Karlsson also offers potential contrarian value with Carolina owning a target-worthy .894 team save percentage.

Keith Yandle, FLA at NYI ($4,400): This salary jumps out as a solid discount, as Yandle is a proven offensive contributor with a go-to role (24:42 of ice time per game with 3:14 on the power play). As noted, this is a soft matchup for the Panthers, and Yandle has recorded a respectable four points and 19 shots through his past seven games. He also stacks nicely with Barkov.
