Hornets Come Through In OT, Defeat Spurs
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the San Antonio Spurs at Spectrum Center on Tuesday evening.

In a game that required overtime to find a winner, the Hornets (35-39) and the Spurs (43-32) played a back-and-forth encounter that did show an interesting pattern: the Spurs were always coming from behind on the score. Charlotte won the first quarter 29-23, but the Spurs turned things around and secured a 36-26 win in the second, going up by four at the break. The Hornets would get the lead back after the third (27-21) but the differential was only two points, and the Spurs erased in the fourth (26-24) so both teams needed to play five extra minutes to decide which team will take home the win. The Hornets looked impressive in OT and a 19-10 lead was enough to secure the victory.

Undoubtedly, Kemba Walker was the biggest star of the game since he came just one rebound short of a triple-double thanks to a 38-points, 11-assist, nine-rebound performance. Dwayne Bacon contributed 24 points in 36 minutes, and Miles Bridges filled the stat sheet thanks to 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. Frank Kaminsky chipped in with a double-double off the bench (15 points, 10 rebounds).

LaMarcus Aldridge was the best player for the Spurs since he finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds, but the top scorer was DeMar DeRozan, who had 30 points, eight boards and four assists. Bryn Forbes chipped in with 16 points, while two bench players eclipsed the 15-point mark: Rudy Gay had 16 points with nine rebounds, and Marco Belinelli had 17 points and 10 boards.
