Eagles at Vikings Prediction
The story of the Eagles' season has been their inconsistent offense. Coordinator Kevin Patullo seems to have no idea how to get the most out of an offense loaded with stars at the skill positions.
Eagles RB Saquon Barkley, WR A.J. Brown and WR DeVonta Smith have all seen inconsistent usage. They'll face a Minnesota defense that specializes in sending blitzes while trying to give the opposing offense complicated coverage looks. If the Eagles get it right this week, Brown and Smith have massive advantages against the Minnesota corners. But, unless the coaching staff finds a way to create balance by keeping Barkley heavily involved, don't be surprised if the offense continues to sputter. Still, the advantage at WR is significant, and Philly should have enough success to post a solid total.
Minnesota is coming off its bye week, but RT Brian O'Neill (week-to-week) and C Ryan Kelly (IR) will sit this one out. Conversely, the Eagles are expected to get DE Jalen Carter back after missing last week. Certainly, Justin Jefferson will have his usual productive day. However, RB Jordan Mason may have limitations due to the offensive line injuries. This is not a great opponent for the Vikings to be at less than full health. Also, there will be urgency by the Eagles defense after getting embarrassed by the New York Giants last week.
The Eagles should get enough done on offense to edge out a win.
