WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Sparks are sitting two games under .500 with a 19-21 record, and while they're not out of the playoffs yet, they don't have a lot of time to turn things around and must win here to maintain their playoff aspirations. The Dream are in a safer position and already clinched a playoff berth, but they're in a three-way tie at second in the standings with a 27-14 record alongside the Aces and Mercury. Atlanta's goal is to capture that second spot in the overall standings.

Rhyne Howard should be one of the most popular players on this slate due to her all-around ability, and the four-year veteran could be a popular pick to anchor lineups due to her two-way production. Brionna Jones, Jordin Canada and Naz Hillmon offer complementary value and would be interesting alternatives if stacking Atlanta players. As for the Sparks, Dearica Hamby and Kelsey Plum are the two players with the biggest fantasy upside on their roster, though Hamby brings a bit more value overall compared to Plum, who's basically limited to scoring duties.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

Sitting at 10-30 after winning their previous game against the Sun by an 88-64 score, the Sky are aiming to close out the regular season on a decent note despite being eliminated from playoff contention. The Fever have yet to secure their apot in the postseason, but at 21-20 and with a 1.5-game lead over the Sparks for the eighth seed, they control their own destiny to reach the playoffs. Making the playoffs would be huge for a Fever team that has been absolutely decimated by injuries in recent weeks.

Two of the best young forwards in the league are also two of the most profitable options in this DFS slate. Aliyah Boston will lead the way for the Fever, while Kamilla Cardoso will do the same for Chicago. Either option will be excellent to anchor a lineup, though Cardoso might have more value due to her rebounding ability. Other players worth taking a look at in this matchup are Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull for Indiana. At the same time, Ariel Atkins could have some upside for Chicago as a secondary scoring weapon due to the absence of Angel Reese (suspension).

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Liberty and the Storm are separated by 2.5 games in the standings, but both teams are approaching the end of the regular season with different mindsets. New York has already clinched a playoff berth and is now focusing on maximizing its health for the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Storm are vying for the seventh seed in the playoffs, as they're in a tight battle for that position with the Fever and the Sparks. The Storm have been struggling at home of late, however, and will need a bounce-back effort to win after dropping four of their last five matchups at Climate Pledge Arena.

When it comes to analyzing which players might be worth the risk in this game, Jonquel Jones appears as the safest option in a depleted New York team that might be without Sabrina Ionescu (toe) again. Seattle has far more options to assemble a solid lineup, though Nneka Ogwumike is the best option. Both Jones and Ogwumike are expected to have a grueling battle down low. Other viable players include Skylar Diggins and Ezi Magbegor for Seattle, while Emma Meesseman could be a player worth taking a look at for New York.

FanDuel

Boston filled the stat sheet in the loss to the Mercury on Tuesday, posting 11 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two blocks across 36 minutes. Even though the star center has failed to reach the 15-point mark in her last two appearances, her role as Indiana's go-to scoring weapon in the absence of Caitlin Clark (groin) is set in stone, giving her a solid floor in most formats. She's averaged 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.6 steals per game across her last five outings while averaging 14.0 field-goal attempts per game during that time, giving her a solid floor in terms of scoring production.

In most games, Cardoso operates as the second option on offense for the Sky. However, she'll get her chance to shine due to the absence of Angel Reese, who's suspended for this matchup. Cardoso delivers solid two-way play in the frontcourt for Chicago, having scored in double digits in all but two of her appearances since the beginning of August while also being an active force on the glass. In 14 outings since the beginning of August, she's averaged 14.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 blocks per game.

Howard will be the Dream's go-to scoring weapon, a role she's embraced all season long, and for the most part, she's been outstanding in that position. She carries a strong run of play heading into this matchup and has scored at least 19 points in her previous four outings while averaging 21.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest during that stretch. She's among the best options to anchor a lineup in this slate.

Unlocking Value: WNBA DFS Sleeper Picks

DraftKings

Boston, Cardoso and Howard are the three best options to anchor a slate in DraftKings, and they're also the three players with the highest salary on the slate. However, there are other worthwhile options to anchor lineups.

Hamby should be the go-to option on offense for the Sparks, and her recent play has been outstanding. She's recorded at least 20 points in four of her last five appearances -- and in seven of her last nine outings. Over that nine-game stretch, the star center has averaged a solid line of 20.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals across 30.7 minutes per game. Furthermore, the 18.3 points per game she's averaging in 2025 represent a career-high mark for her.

The Liberty will be missing several key contributors for this matchup against the Storm, but Jones will be their go-to option on both ends of the court. One of the many viable frontcourt options in this slate, Jones is coming off back-to-back subpar games -- she's notched a combined 11 points and 10 rebounds in the road losses to Phoenix and Golden State on Aug. 30 and Sep. 2, respectively. Despite that, Jones should find a way to bounce back. She's averaged 15.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per game since the All-Star break.

Ogwumike will have to deal with the threat of Jones on both ends of the court, and the veteran is expected to continue her strong run of play in recent weeks. She's coming off back-to-back appearances with at least 20 points. Over her last 10 outings, Ogwumike has averaged 19.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor.
