WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Fever (23-20) and Mystics (16-26) square off at 3:00 p.m. ET in the nation's capital in this penultimate battle of the regular season for both sides.

Indiana received the bad news earlier this week that Caitlin Clark (groin) is done for the season, adding to a lengthy injury report for the Fever. Still, they've managed to keep their heads above water, and Indiana's healthy bodies have played very well lately.

Indiana routed Chicago 97-77 on Friday, with Kelsey Mitchell going for 20 points, eight assists and a pair of three-pointers, while Natasha Howard was good for 18 points with seven rebounds, including four defensive boards. She also contributed four steals, while going a very efficient 7-of-8 from the field. Five Indiana players went for 10 or more points, showing the team can still be competitive in Clark's absence.

The Mystics have dropped eight in a row, and they seem to be on fumes heading to the finish line. Shakira Austin isn't throwing in the towel, though, going for 15 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks against Phoenix on Friday, while rookie Kiki Iriafen has also been finishing strong. She had 18 points and 13 rebounds against the Mercury, and she is averaging 20.0 PPG and 13.0 RPG in the past two games, while limiting her turnovers lately. Iriafen has just five total miscues over her last four outings.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Wings (9-33) and Sparks (19-22) meet at Crypto.com Arena, and Los Angeles is looking for the season sweep. They're 3-0 SU against Dallas this season, going for 93 or more points in two of the three battles. That's good news for fantasy players, especially with a short slate.

It has been a constant struggle for the Wings defensively, allowing a WNBA-worst 88.2 PPG and a 38.9 percent three-point percentage, while ranking second-to-last in defensive field-goal percentage at 46.1.

Rookie Paige Bueckers has been one of the few bright spots in Dallas, going for 27 points against Golden State on Thursday, solving a Valkyries defense which is normally very good. She has 16 or more points in three consecutive appearances, as she finishes up her first pro campaign on a high note.

For the Sparks, Rickea Jackson is a question mark due to a lower leg ailment, but she's likely to play. When she is in there, she is stellar for fantasy managers and DFS players. She has at least 15 points in four consecutive outings, and she has managed to hit at least one three-pointer in 14 straight appearances since Aug. 5, while hitting two or more triples in 12 of those outings. That includes six triples in an 81-80 win over Dallas on Aug. 20.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Sky (10-31) and Aces (27-14) square off at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The already eliminated Sky have had some off-court issues, as Angel Reese was critical of teammates this week. She was suspended for Friday's game against Indiana due to an eighth technical foul on the season, and she will be held out for the first half against the Aces due to conduct detrimental to the team after public comments the star made.

With Reese on the sidelines for the first two quarters, expect Elizabeth Williams to pick up the slack, while Kamilla Cardoso likely sees more rebound opportunities.

For the Aces, it is all about A'ja Wilson, of course. She is averaging a double-double this season, going for 23.6 PPG and 10.1 RPG with 3.0 APG and 1.5 SPG. She has been even stronger lately, averaging 32.5 PPG over her last two appearances, while going for at least 27 points in nine of her last 12 outings since Aug. 6. She also has seven or more rebounds in 13 consecutive appearances, while blocking at least two shots in four straight, and eight of the past nine.

Chelsea Gray had a double-double in a win over the Lynx on Thursday, posting 13 points and 10 assists, and she is averaging 13.7 PPG, 7.3 APG and 3.0 RPG over her last three outings, with a total of eight three-pointers made in the span.

Top WNBA DFS Picks: Key Players to Watch

DraftKings

Looking to DraftKings, we mentioned Wilson's dominance above, and if you can find a way to fit her into the lineup, she is going better than just about everyone right now. Iriafen is finishing up her rookie season strong. There are just two games remaining for the Mystics, and she is playing hard until the end of the seson.

As mentioned, Jackson is nursing an injury and is considered a game-time decision. Double-check that she is playing before finalizing those lineups. If she were to sit, subbing in Rae Burrell and Cameron Brink could see a bump in playing time and responsibilities.

Williams is a strong play with Reese suspended for the first half in Las Vegas, especially for rebounding purposes. Myisha Hines-Allen has also been on fire lately, going for at least 11 points in four of the past five games, while averaging 12.6 PPG, 8.0 RPG and 1.8 APG.

Unlocking Value: WNBA DFS Sleeper Picks

FanDuel

Although the Wings have been banged up recently, Bueckers has been a bright spot for the team, and Dallas' abundance of injuries should help to allow the rookie to continue stepping up during Sunday's matchup.

Cardoso has a cheaper salary on FanDuel than Angel Reese, and the 2024 No. 3 overall pick should have plenty of opportunities during Sunday's matchup since Reese will sit out the first half. It's unclear how much Reese will play during the second half, but Cardoso has ample DFS upside.

While A'ja Wilson has grabbed headlines for the Aces recently, Gray has also been a stellar contributor, including her double-double against the Lynx on Thursday. The Aces remain in a tight battle for the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, so look for Gray to continue playing hard.
