WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Sky (8-23) and Sun (5-26) meet in Connecticut, and the matchup features two teams not playing strong basketball. The Sky are just 3-12 on the road, while the Sun are just 4-11 at home.

Chicago has Ariel Atkins (leg) listed as probable, so she should be good to go. In three appearances since returning from a three-week absence due to a leg injury, Atkins has averaged 10.3 points, 3.7 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 made three-pointers per game.

The Sky will be without Angel Reese (back), which is bad news for Chicago. In the first meeting with Connecticut, Reese posted 11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists for a triple-double, while adding three steals and two blocks. Hailey Van Lith had 16 points off the bench, and she is probable for Wednesday.

For Connecticut, veteran Tina Charles rested against the Valkyries on Monday, but she isn't on the injury report for Wednesday's matchup. Olivia Nelson-Ododa was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field against Golden State in Charles' place in the starting five, finishing with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and an assist. She'll likely return back to the bench.

The Sun rank last in the WNBA in points scored (75.5 PPG) and three-point percentage (30.4 percent), while checking in 12th with a 40.4 percent field-goal percentage. On defense, Connecticut is 12th in points allowed (87.6 PPG), and last in field-goal percentage allowed (46.7 percent).

As such, DFS managers may want to consider some Sky players like Atkins, assuming she plays, as well as Kamilla Cardoso and Rachel Banham.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Valkyries (16-15) and Mystics (14-17) meet in Washington, and Golden State looks to improve on its 6-10 road mark.

Golden State has won each of the first two meetings, but the margin of victory has been two points in the Bay Area on May 21, and one point in Washington on July 31. Both games were very low scoring, with Golden State averaging 72.0 PPG and allowing 70.5 PPG. That's a microcosm of the Valkyries' season, as they struggle to score but clamp down on defense.

The Valkyries average 77.7 PPG (11th) while hitting 31.6 percent (11th) on three-pointers and 40.1 percent from the field (13th). On defense, Golden State is No. 1 while allowing 40.5 percent on defensive field-goal percentage, while ranking No. 2 by allowing 77.8 PPG.

Meanwhile, Washington has experienced some roster changes recently, trading Brittney Sykes to Seattle and Aaliyah Edwards to Connecticut ahead of the deadline.

The Mystics did roll up 91 points in a road victory in Dallas on Sunday, with rookie Kiki Iriafen finishing with 23 points and 10 boards. Rookie Sonia Citron ended up with 18 points, six assists and five rebounds in 32 minutes. She has been on a roll, recording at least 11 points in eight consecutive appearances. She has averaged 18.3 points, 3.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.8 made three-pointers per game over four outings in August. Citron is definitely a Washington player to target despite Golden State's suffocating defense.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Liberty (21-11) and Aces (18-14) meet in Las Vegas, and it's the second end of a back-to-back for New York.

New York picked up a 105-97 win over the Sparks on Tuesday, and the Liberty have won four of their last five games, scoring at least 85 points in four of those matchups.

The Liberty lost their last time playing on no rest, falling 101-99 against the Sparks at home in lare July after topping the Mercury the day before. This is just the third time playing on no rest, and New York has averaged 92.0 PPG in those two games.

Leonie Fiebich, Jonquel Jones and Emma Meesseman each went for at least 20 points in Los Angeles on Tuesday, with Jones going for 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Meesseman rolled up a team-high 24 points, nine boards and four assists in 32 minutes.

The Aces have won a season-high four consecutive games, going for at least 90 points in three of those victories. They have also allowed 86 points in each of the past two games, so this could be quite an offensive shootout.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy

The Dream (20-11) and Storm (16-16) meet at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, and Atlanta has managed a 10-7 record on the road, while Seattle is just 8-8 at home.

These teams have split the first two meetings this season, with the winning team averaging 87.0 PPG, while the losing team has allowed 83.0 PPG. This could also be another high-scoring game.

Atlanta has won a season-best five consecutive games heading into this matchup. In a 74-66 win at Phoenix on Sunday, Naz Hillmon had 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Brionna Jones was good for 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Rhyne Howard returned from a month-long absence, but she was limited to four points while shooting 0-for-7 from the field, including 0-for-5 from downtown. She also picked up two technical fouls and an ejection in her return. However, she could be motivated Wednesday while also carrying a reasonable DFS salary.

Since Jordin Canada (leg) has been ruled out Wednesday, look for Maya Caldwell and Te-Hina Paopao to get some extended run.

Top WNBA DFS Picks: Key Players to Watch

FanDuel

Wilson is always a solid building block for any DFS lineup, and she'll get to take advantage of a tired Liberty team that is playing on no rest. Cardoso should rack up some big-time point and rebound totals, filling the void in the middle since Angel Reese is still on the mend. Again, the rookie Citron should roll up some solid totals, especially in the points department. Caldwell is a good play with Canada sidelined for the Dream, and she could easily exceed DFS expectations. Additionally, Banham is a good play for the Sky, especially if Atkins faces any sort of minutes restrictions.

Unlocking Value: WNBA DFS Sleeper Picks

DraftKings

Charles should be rested, and she gets a crack at a Sky team which is 13th in OPRK. Charles is averaging 27.9 fantasy points per game, so it's a good spot to play the veteran. Williams, like Cardoso, should benefit from no Reese for the Sky. Sticking in the same game, Morrow is a rebound machine, and she should also benefit from Reese being sidelined. Since Canada will be unavailable, Paopao could outperform DFS expectations.
