Los Angeles Angels (3-7) at Seattle Mariners (4-7)
Tuesday, August 4th, 10:10 PM EDT
Both the Mariners and the Angels have negative records following their first 11 games of the season, and winning here might prove to be pivotal given what's at stake for both franchises – both have playoff aspirations, but can't slip down the standings even further with another loss in what promises to be a wide-open race for the AL West pennant. The pitching matchup will feature two hurlers who are yet to record a win, as the Angels will send lefty Andrew Heaney to the mound, and the Mariners will counter with rookie right-hander Justin Dunn. These two hurlers already faced each other in their previous outings, with Heaney allowing two runs in five-plus innings and Dunn tossing three sharp frames before allowing a three-run homer to Shohei Ohtani the last time out.

Justin Anderson - 60-Day IL - Elbow
7/23 9:59 AM EST - The Angels placed Anderson (elbow) on the 45-day injured list Thursday. Anderson's move to the IL was merely a formality after he was diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow last week that required season-ending Tommy John surgery. The power reliever won't be ready to contribute for the Angels until late in the second half of the 2021 campaign in a best-case scenario.
