The Week 10 NFL DFS Yahoo main slate begins Sunday at 1 p.m. EST and features 10 games. The Bengals, Cowboys, Titans and Chiefs are on bye, while the Thursday Night Football (Raiders-Broncos), Berlin game (Falcons-Colts), Sunday Night Football (Steelers-Chargers) and Monday Night Football (Eagles-Packers) participants are excluded from the main slate.
Playing in guaranteed prize pool (GPP) Yahoo DFS football contests is about chasing upside, while lineups geared toward head-to-head, 50/50 or double-up formats should prioritize high floors. The players you want to target for these different contest types aren't mutually exclusive, but winning a GPP tournament usually requires finding a hidden gem or going against the grain in a spot or two while building a solid base of the same chalk plays you would use anywhere. Against-the-grain plays typically consist of big-name players in tough matchups or boom-or-bust types with uncertain roles.
Keep in mind that Yahoo DFS football contests use 0.5 PPR scoring rather than full PPR, which lowers the comparative value of wide receivers and running backs (in that order) while especially affecting high-volume pass-catchers. NFL DFS Yahoo lineups consist of one QB, two RBs, three WRs, one TE, one FLEX (RB/WR/TE) and one D/ST unit. Suggested Yahoo DFS picks for Week 10 include a QB-WR stack featuring one of the league's most prolific pass catchers, as well as a rookie RB with a growing role and a pair of wideouts with bounce-back opportunities.
QUARTERBACK
J.J. McCarthy, MIN vs. BAL ($29): McCarthy seemed overwhelmed in his first two starts, but after an extensive stint taking in the game from the sidelines due to an ankle injury, the 2024 first-round draft pick looked much more decisive in leading the Vikings to a pivotal win at Detroit with three total TDs. He's an underrated runner who has scored with his legs in two of three starts, and McCarthy is in one of the most fantasy-friendly QB situations in the NFL, throwing to Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson under the direction of outstanding play caller Kevin O'Connell. Baltimore's defense has been better lately, but the Ravens are still allowing 27.0 points per game and have given up a 14:3 TD:INT through the air.
Honorable Mentions: Caleb Williams, CHI vs. NYG ($37); Jared Goff, DET at WAS ($34); Jaxson Dart, NYG at CHI ($34)
Against the Grainers: Baker Mayfield, TB vs. NE ($35); Justin Fields, NYJ at CLE ($29); Marcus Mariota, WAS vs. DET ($22)
RUNNING BACK
Rico Dowdle, CAR vs. NO ($33): In three starts this season, Dowdle has produced 614 scrimmage yards and five total touchdowns. His strong play has earned him the lead role moving forward, and he's poised to receive a hefty workload against a Saints defense that's surrendering 109.8 yards per game on the ground to RBs. The 5-4 Panthers project to lean heavily on the run as home favorites against the 1-8 Saints.
TreVeyon Henderson, NE at TB ($17): Henderson notched career-highs in both touches (18) and scrimmage yards (87) in Rhamondre Stevenson's (toe) absence against the Falcons in Week 9. With Stevenson trending toward another absence, the affordable Henderson should maintain the lead role in Week 10. The ascendant rookie second-round pick has logged multiple catches in six of his first nine NFL games, and Henderson's likely to make significant contributions as a pass catcher against a Buccaneers defense that's allowing a league-high 58.3 receiving yards per game to RBs.
Honorable Mentions: James Cook, BUF at MIA ($39); Breece Hall, NYJ vs. CLE ($29); Quinshon Judkins, CLE at NYJ ($28)
Against the Grainers: Travis Etienne, JAC at HOU ($24); Kyle Monangai, CHI vs. NYG ($18); Tyrone Tracy, NYG at CHI ($16)
WIDE RECEIVER
Justin Jefferson, MIN vs. BAL ($33): Jefferson makes for a strong standalone play even if you don't stack him with McCarthy. The star wide receiver continues to be a relative bargain, with four options at the position having higher prices. Both of Jefferson's touchdown receptions this season have come in McCarthy's three starts under center, and Jefferson hasn't dipped below nine targets in a game since Week 3. Meanwhile, the Ravens rank among the eight most generous defenses in catches, yards and TDs allowed to wide receivers per game.
Rome Odunze, CHI vs. NYG ($23): Odunze's coming off a Week 9 goose egg against the Bengals, but he still leads the Bears with 473 receiving yards and five touchdown catches this season. He has a nice bounce-back opportunity against the Giants, who are one of four teams with more than 1,500 receiving yards allowed to WRs. Chicago's coaching staff will likely make a concerted effort to get the talented wideout more involved in this favorable matchup.
Jerry Jeudy, CLE at NYJ ($15): Jeudy has had a forgettable season, but he had 1,229 receiving yards for the Browns just last year, and this is a nice buy-low opportunity as he comes out of a bye against a Jets defense that just traded away star CB Sauce Gardner. This battle of one-win teams offers an opportunity for numerous underperforming players to pick on someone their own size, and Jeudy might just be the best value among that group given his affordable valuation and pedigree.
Honorable Mentions: Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET at WAS ($37); Tetairoa McMillan, CAR vs. NO ($25); Deebo Samuel, WAS at DET ($24)
Against the Grainers: Nico Collins, HOU vs. JAC ($30); Marvin Harrison, ARI at SEA ($25); Darius Slayton, NYG vs. CHI ($18)
TIGHT END
Dalton Kincaid, BUF at MIA ($19): Kincaid has exceeded 100 receiving yards in two of his last three games, and Buffalo's top TE is likely to keep rolling in a favorable Week 10 matchup. Miami has allowed the most receiving yards to TEs (614) among teams playing the Week 10 NFL DFS Yahoo main slate, and the Dolphins' six touchdowns allowed to the position are also tied for the most among main slate teams (idle Cincinnati leads both categories overall). Buffalo should have no trouble piling up points against the 2-7 Dolphins considering the Bills have scored 30-plus points six times their seven-game winning streak against the AFC East rival Dolphins, and throwing to Kincaid could be the path of least resistance.
Honorable Mentions: Trey McBride, ARI at SEA ($28); David Njoku, CLE at NYJ ($17); Cade Otton, TB vs. NE ($11)
Against the Grainers: George Kittle, SF vs. LAR ($18); Dalton Schultz, HOU vs. JAC ($16); Mason Taylor, NYJ at CLE ($13)
DEFENSE
Jacksonville Jaguars, JAC at HOU ($11): The Texans will be starting backup QB Davis Mills, who has a 5-19-1 record as a starter in the regular season. The Jaguars rank second in the NFL with 11 interceptions and have allowed the third-fewest rushing yards to RBs, so they will likely force Mills to beat them with his arm and have proven capable of capitalizing in such situations. Even with Stroud available, the Texans have been a bottom-10 offense, averaging 21.0 points per game.
Honorable Mentions: Buffalo Bills at MIA ($16); Detroit Lions at WAS ($15); Carolina Panthers, CAR vs. NO ($13)
Against the Grainers: Cleveland Browns at NYJ ($16); Chicago Bears vs. NYG ($14); New York Jets vs. CLE ($10)
