The Skinny
Seattle enters as the largest underdog on the slate at +6.5 and faces a tough matchup against one of the more sound defensive teams in the league. Unsurprisingly, Natasha Howard led the way in the only other meeting between the teams this season, notching 20 points, eight rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist. With Jordin Canada questionable for the contest, Jewell Loyd and Sami Whitcomb could be slated for extra minutes if she can't go, potentially providing some additional fantasy value. Loyd posted 15 points in the previous game against the Sun and has seen her minutes limited recently. If she returns to the 25 minutes she logged in the last clash, Loyd should easily return her daily cost.
The usual suspects provided most of the production for the Sun in the June 16 meeting, though Alyssa Thomas stood out with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, leading to one of her better fantasy performances of the campaign. Jonquel Jones provided a well-rounded effort as well, which is slightly surprising given that the Storm allow a slate-low 29.8 points per game in the paint. A repeat effort from those two would be somewhat surprising, but the factors working against them could make the pair decent plays in GPP contests.

The Skinny
The Mystics again lose out on the production of Kristi Toliver, who racked up a whopping 32 points for her season-best fantasy effort in the July 24 clash. Aerial Powers and Emma Meesseman saw increased minutes over the last two games in her absence, with Powers supplying a combined 36 points and Meesseman going off for 25 in the Aug. 11 game against the Lynx. Eena Delle Donne, Myisha Hines-Allen and Aerial Powers are the other players to average double-digit points against the Lynx, though Hines-Allen hasn't scored more than eight in another game this season and the showing figures to be more of an outlier than anything.
Odyssey Sims has been on fire for the Lynx recently and notched her third-best fantasy game of the season last Sunday against the Mystics. Given her four-straight double-digit efforts and fantasy point scores north of 25, Sims should be a reliable top-tier option to anchor a lot of cash game lineups. Napheesa Collier is another strong candidate for fantasy purposes Friday, averaging 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals over five August contests.

The Skinny
With essentially a fully healthy roster in tow, the Sparks earn the favorite nod over Chicago. It's notable that the game started at even and has since moved 1.5 points in the direction of Los Angeles. Nneka Ogwumike has taken a clear lead role offensively, totaling 18.8 points and 9.8 boards per game over five August contests. Chicago also allows a slate-high 36.4 points in the paint, in addition to 12.7 second-chance points (second-highest), boosting Ogwumike's value as a potential fantasy anchor in a game featuring two of the highest-paced teams Friday. Chelsea Gray has also gone off in the two previous games against the Sky, averaging 19.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and one steal.
Even though the Sky are a slight underdog, it doesn't necessarily detract a ton from the team's fantasy value given the high expected score. However, Courtney Vandersloot and Jamierra Faulkner's statuses for the game are unclear, potentially increasing the value of others on the squad. Gabby Williams and Astou Ndour so the biggest boosts in minutes the last time out, which also happened to be against the Sparks, with each logging more than 30 minutes in the game. Neither of the two crossed the double-digit mark in points as a result, but Williams did toss in a team-high six assists, potentially bolstering her case for increased fantasy value again Friday if Vandersloot remains sidelined. Cheyenne Parker posted her second-highest scoring output with 19 points and should remain in strong consideration Friday with Jantel Lavender likely done for the season.

The Skinny
New York enters Friday's clash slumping to the tune of six straight losses, including a 23-point loss to the Wings in Dallas to open August. With Amanda Zahui B sidelined recently due to injury, Rebecca Allen has taken advantage of increased playing time to post a pair of 20-point games. She could be primed for another decent effort if Zahui B remains sidelined, though Dallas' slowest pace of the slate could lower some of her upside.
After a slow start to the season, Dallas has seemed to round into form, led by ROTY candidate Arike Ogunbowale. Ogunbowale's 35 points against the Sparks on Wednesday paced the team by a wide margin, with Glory Johnson and her 20 points marking the only other double-digit scorer on the slate. With second-leading scorer Kayla Thornton unavailable for a second straight contest, look for Ogunbowale to take on a heavy burden in that department again. Considering New York sports a slate-worst defensive rating, Ogunbowale should have a good opportunity to back the effort up. Allisha gray has also performed well in the two previous meetings, averaging 11.0 points, 5.5 steals, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals.

The Skinny
Atlanta sports the league's worst record at 5-20 and has lost 10 straight contests. Fortunately for the Dream, the Mercury remain without Brittney Griner as she continues to serve a suspension due to an altercation last Saturday against the Wings. The absence of that rim protector could allow the Dream bigs to take advantage of a Mercury team that already struggles to clear the defensive glass. Jonquel Jones racked up 14 boards against the Mercury in their first game without Griner, tying her second-best total of the campaign. That should work in the favor Elizabeth Williams, Jessica Breland and Monique Billings (ankle), if she plays in the contest. Marie Gulich was given a season-high 28 minutes Tuesday versus the Aces and responded with 15 points and 12 boards. Extended playing time again Friday could make her another candidate for a big effort.
As mentioned above, Griner remains out Friday while on suspension. Her first absence opened the door for Camille Little, Sophie Cunningham and Brianna Turner to collect a few extra minutes. That trio figures to see more of the same Friday against a defensively vulnerable Atlanta squad. Cunningham joined the starting lineup in place of Griner, but her contributions remained minimal. Turner presents the most upside with scoring available and displayed just that with 12 points versus the Sun. She had two straight double-digit rebound efforts prior to Tuesday's contest, so it wouldn't be shocking to see Turner go for a double-double and the DraftKings bonus points.
