Crowder Helps Lift Jazz Over Celtics
The Utah Jazz defeated the visiting Boston Celtics, 123-115, at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday evening.

The first quarter started out close with the Jazz taking the early two-point advantage heading into the second. The Jazz stayed strong in the second and managed to take 58-51 lead into halftime. The Celtics could not find the answer in the third, as the Jazz quickly pushed their lead to 12. The Jazz held on to their lead through the quarter, as they outscored the Celtics 35-29 in the quarter to take a 93-80 lead into the final frame. The Celtics made a push in the fourth, as they made it a five-point game with three minutes to go. However, Jae Crowder, the former Celtics player, came up huge down the stretch with a dunk and a three-pointer, to help the Jazz hold on for their second straight win.

Joe Ingles led the Jazz with 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting, seven assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block, in 35 minutes. Donovan Mitchell followed up with 21 points on 5-of-14 shooting, five assists, two rebounds and two steals, in 33 minutes, while Jae Crowder added 20 points, in 30 minutes off the bench. The Jazz shot 56 percent from the field, including 13-of-34 from long range.

Meanwhile, Terry Rozier led the way for the Celtics with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists, in 36 minutes. Jayson Tatum tallied 21 points, four assists, three rebounds and five steals, in 36 minutes, while Marcus Smart finished with 13 points, 10 assists, three rebounds and two steals, in 33 minutes off the bench. The Celtics shot 44 percent from the field, including 17-of-43 from long range.

The Celtics (7-5) will look to bounce back as they take on the Trail Blazers in Portland on Sunday. The Jazz (6-6) head to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies on Monday.
