Yahoo DFS Baseball: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Baseball series.

Pitcher

Noah Syndergaard, NYM vs. PHI ($54): Syndergaard has been brilliant for the Mets this season, notching a 29 percent strikeout rate with a 2.61 ERA over 148 innings. The Norse God of Thunder has an opportunity to dominate the Phillies, who are a bottom five team against righties according to wOBA and strike out against them 22 percent of the time.

Alex Reyes, STL vs. OAK ($25): We will go from the penthouse to the outhouse in terms of price but there is nothing low rent about Reyes, as the prospect has yet to allow a run in 9.1 innings this season. He has struck out 13 batters over that span. Reyes has had issues with issuing free passes for most of his career but it's hard not to give him a look against the Athletics, as they hold the sixth-lowest wOBA against righty pitchers.

Catcher

Evan Gattis, HOU vs. TB ($17): Gattis rewarded us with a nice night Friday and while the bulk of the damage came against right-hander Alex Colome, the 30-year-old is still more likely to take the ball out of the yard against lefties, as evidenced by his .279 ISO against them. Blake Snell has the makings of a solid big league pitcher but continues to be haunted by his walk rate, which now stands at 14 percent over 65.1 innings.

First Base

Brandon Moss, STL vs. OAK ($19): Opposing starter Zach Neal seems like the perfect stack option, as he holds a strikeout rate of just six percent and an ERA approaching 8.00 over four starts. Moss is quietly having one of the best offensive seasons of his career, as he currently holds a .386 wOBA and a staggering .316 ISO over 97 games.

Second Base

Ian Kinsler, DET vs. LAA ($12): The Angels appear to be on a neverending search for serviceable starting pitching, as their rotation now includes names like Ricky Nolasco and Brett Oberholtzer. Oberholtzer has logged a 5.27 ERA and a 2.1 HR/9 rate this season between the Phillies and Angels and should have a tough time in his first start this season against the powerful righties that comprise the Tigers' lineup. Count Kinsler among that group, as he has tallied a .215 ISO against southpaws in 2016.

Third Base

Todd Frazier, CWS vs. SEA ($12): Another pitcher who is light on experience in 2016 is southpaw Ariel Miranda, who has been walloped to the tune of a 5.49 ERA over 19.2 innings (three starts.) Frazier will look to come up on the right side of his homer-or-bust tendencies, as he carries a .316 ISO against lefties despite hitting just .177 against them over 79 at-bats.

Shortstop

Francisco Lindor, CLE at TEX ($16): Lindor began the season on a tear against lefties but has found more success against right-handers of late, notching a .350 wOBA and a .146 ISO over 329 at-bats. A.J. Griffin has struggled mightily in his attempts to limit the damage against lefties, having allowed 13 homers and a .596 slugging percentage in 44 innings.

Outfield

Adam Duvall, CIN at ARI ($18): Duvall matches up very well against rookie Zack Godley, as he comes into the contest providing a hefty six runs above average against the curveball, a pitch Godley throws nearly 24 percent of the time. Duvall should also have the advantage with the platoon split as he pits his 46 percent fly ball rate against Godley's groundball profile.

Marcell Ozuna, MIA vs. SD ($10): Ozuna is a good hitter who becomes a beast against left-handed pitching, as he has notched a .346 ISO against southpaws in 107 at-bats. Clayton Richard has been stingy with the home run ball in his 26.1 innings this season, but his 5.22 xFIP against right-handers is a strong indication that regression is due.

Angel Pagan, SF vs. ATL ($17): Mike Foltynewicz has struggled against left-handers this season, allowing seven home runs and a .503 slugging percentage over 39 innings. Pagan has enough power to take the ball over the fence (.145 ISO) and has tallied a .351 wOBA against righties.

Other Options: Yoenis Cespedes, NYM vs. PHI ($18); Alex Dickerson, SD at MIA ($15); Andrew McCutchen, PIT at MIL ($15)
