Chicago Bears RB Roles
Team: Chicago Bears
Last Update:   6/19/2025
RB Overview
Role Security: Very High
6/19/25 - D’Andre Swift led the Bears in 2024 with 253 carries, 52 targets, and a 52% red zone share. He’s expected to retain that lead role this season. Sixth-round rookie Kyle Monangai will battle Roschon Johnson for change-of-pace duties. Johnson has struggled with efficiency the past two seasons, giving Monangui a legitimate shot to earn the No. 2 role. Travis Homer is likely to remain a special teams contributor.
WR Overview
6/19/25 - DJ Moore led the team with 140 targets in 2024 and will continue as the top option in the passing game. Rome Odunze, last year’s first-round pick, should operate as the No. 2 WR after seeing 101 targets as a rookie. Olamide Zaccheaus and second-rounder Luther Burden will compete for slot work, though Burden has a clear edge based on talent and draft capital. Devin Duvernay and Tyler Scott are in the mix for depth roles.
TE Overview
6/19/25 - Rookie Colston Loveland, selected 10th overall, is expected to step in as the Bears’ No. 1 receiving TE right away. Cole Kmet, a longtime contributor, will likely shift to a secondary role in the passing game.
