Philadelphia Eagles RB Roles
Team: Philadelphia Eagles
Last Update:   4/27/2024
RB Overview
Role Security: Very High
04/27/24 Saquon Barkley is expected to be the lead RB. Barkley should play on all three downs and see work at the goal line. Kenneth Gainwell should see work when Barkley needs a breather. Fourth-round draft choice Will Shipley will likely serve as the No. 3 RB, though he profiles as a receiving RB.
WR Overview
04/27/24 A.J. Brown should continue to be used as the alpha WR. Brown will be used all over the field, including deep routes as well as red-zone work. The No. 2 is DeVonta Smith. Smith will often be used as a possession WR, though he is capable of moving into a high-volume role when called upon. DeVante Parker and Parris Campbell will compete for No. 3 duties, though the Eagles have not featured their No. 3 receiver over the last two years. Rookies Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson will likely compete for depth roles.
TE Overview
04/27/24 Dallas Goedert will be the primary receiving TE. Grant Calcaterra could see snaps when the team uses multiple TEs, though he may not see many targets unless Goedert misses time.
