Jacksonville Jaguars RB Roles
Team: Jacksonville Jaguars
Last Update:   4/27/2024
RB Overview
Role Security: Very High
04/27/24 Travis Etienne is the clear lead back. Etienne will see work on all three downs along with red-zone work as well. However, Etienne typically does not get high volume. D'Ernest Johnson and Tank Bigsby will compete for work when Etienne is off the field. With a strong training camp, fifth-round rookie Keilan Robinson could push for the change-of-pace role.
WR Overview
04/27/24 Although he often plays in the slot, Christian Kirk is expected to be the Jaguars' primary receiver. The team brought in Gabe Davis in free agency to likely give them a deep threat to keep defenses honest. It's unclear how many targets that will result in. However, the Jaguars used a first-round pick to select Brian Thomas. The rookie is viewed as a deep threat as well. As a result, Thomas should have a chance to overtake Davis as the primary deep threat during the preseason. Zay Jones would likely need to overtake Davis in order to have a prominent role as an outside receiver in the offense. Otherwise, Jones should be the No. 4 receiver.
TE Overview
04/27/24 Evan Engram is the lead TE. Not only will he dominate TE targets, but he could challenge Christian Kirk for the team lead in targets.
