The Skinny

The Aces took a second straight loss Sunday against the Lynx, but they should have a decent shot to end the three-game road trip with a win Tuesday versus Indiana. The games is especially important when factoring in that the Aces are now even with the Sparks for the top seed in the Western Conference. Nobody really stood out against the Lynx on Sunday, but the team's stars have showed up against the Fever in two previous matches this season, with A'ja Wilson leading the charge averaging 25.5 points and 8.5 boards and Liz Cambage following up with 17.5 points and 6.5 boards.

While Indiana is far from jostling for playoff positioning, they did pick up a nice win Sunday against the Storm. Even so, they sit as seven-point underdogs against the Aces and will need to hope rookie Teaira McCowan and Natalie Achonwa can hold their own against Cambage. McCowan has seemingly hit her stride of late, notching 20-plus points in two of the last three games and double digits in four of the last five. That may be hard to replicate again Tuesday with Cambage guarding the rim, with the three-point shot typically marking success for the opposition. Kelsey Mitchell and Erica Wheeler do the most damage in that department and both have averaged in double figures in the two previous games this season.

The Skinny

New York's defense leaves much to be desired, which leaves much to be gained by playing some of the Phoenix stars Tuesday. Brittney Griner is coming off of a massive 34-point effort Sunday against the Sky and has scored at least 24 in each of her two games since returning from a three-game suspension. She missed the last go-around with New York because of the suspension, but Griner posted a whopping 30 pints and eight rebounds the last time the two clubs met and should be poised for another strong effort Tuesday. DeWanna Bonner predictably followed her with 19.5 points and seven boards in the two games and Leilani Mitchell has averaged 16.5 points. Mitchell could be an attractive DFS option Tuesday for GPP contests after posting a disappointing line Sunday.

Phoenix's Achilles heel comes on the boards, with the club sporting a league-worst 47 percent rebound rate, 25.6 percent offensive rebound rate and 66.5 defensive rebound rate. Tina Charles has taken advantage of those struggles the previous contests this season, averaging 23 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. She will likely be leaned upon in a similar fashion Tuesday and could be underutilized in DFS as the underdog in a middle-of-the-pack over/under game. She's seen a lighter workload than usual in the last two games (less than 30 minutes in each), so it may be best to stick to GPP usage. If spreading the wealth of minutes remains in-tact Tuesday, Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe could be worth consideration as a DFS punt play as a solid rebounder coming off back-to-back double-digit fantasy efforts.

The Skinny

While the Sparks and Mystics feature average tempos, the two own above average offensive ratings that have led to a high expected point total. While Los Angeles owns a stellar 12-2 record on its home court this season, the Sparks are just 6-8 on the road. Washington has been nearly as good on its home floor, carrying an 11-3 record, which likely played into the Sparks coming in as 6.5-point underdogs. The Mystics allow above-average points in the paint and second-chance points, both of which point toward the Sparks' frontcourt potentially finding success. Nneka Ogwumike is the prime example of that, averaging 21.5 points and eight rebounds in under 30 minutes per game. With the Sparks eyeing the top seed in the West, those minutes could be heightened Tuesday if the game is close. Riquna Williams also fared well in the previous matchups and is coming off a 21-point effort against the Sun on Sunday.

The Sparks' biggest troubles come getting back in transition, allowing 9.7 points (second-most on the slate) in that fashion. They also surrender 11.9 second-chance points per contest (fourth-most) and 7.1 three-point makes per contest (fourth-most) on a 35.5 percentage from beyond the arc (tied for second-best opponent mark). Washington's offense has plenty of ways to exploit those weaknesses. Six players on the squad average one or more three-point makes per contest, though Kristi Toliver remains sidelined due to injury. Ariel Atkins tops the group with 4.5 attempts per contest from deep, while she and Elena Delle Donne split the most makes (1.6 each) thanks to a better efficiency from Delle Donne. An all-around player, Delle Donne also averages 1.5 fast-break points and a team-best 2.8 second-chance points, so the star forward may have a big game on tap Tuesday. She hasn't played her full workload in either game against the Sparks this year but brought down 15 rebounds over just 26 minutes the last time the two teams played.

The Skinny

Chicago is riding high entering Tuesday's matchup with a three-game winning streak that includes wins over the Mercury and Mystics. That doesn't prevent them from being 3.5-point underdogs versus a Minnesota squad that dispensed of the Aces by 21 points Sunday. To keep the streak alive, Chicago will need to take advantage of Minnesota's tendency to turn the ball over (tied for slate-high 8.8 opponent steals per game) and turn them into fast-break points. Chicago lives to do just that, with Diamond DeShields notching a team-high 3.7 fast-break tallies per contest and Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley putting up 2.1 per game each. Vandersloot and DeShields also lead the team with 1.3 steals per game each. However, it's Quigley who has performed best against the Lynx this season, averaging 17 points per tilt.

Napheesa Collier and Danielle Robinson have hit their collective strides over the past couple games, with each supplying 23 points in Sunday's win over the Aces. Chicago's biggest struggles lie in the heart of the paint, where they allow a league-high 36.8 points. Much of those tallies likely involve the team's 12.4 second-chance points allowed (slate-high mark). Robinson is no stranger to the paint, collecting five points per game in that fashion, but Collier, Sylvia Fowles and Odyssey Sims each score more frequently in that area. Fowles leads the club averaging 10 points per tilt in the paint and 3.2 second-chance points, so it shouldn't come as a shock that she's averaged a double-double -- 13 points and 11 rebounds -- in the two games prior. Predictably, Collier, Sims and Robinson have also each averaged in double-digits during those contests.

The Skinny

Rounding out the slate is the lowest projected scoring total on the night between the Sun and Storm. Connecticut had its four-game winning streak snapped in a tough environment against the Sparks on Sunday. Seattle's most glaring defensive struggles come defending the three-point line (league-high 35.9 opposing three-point percentage) and getting back in transition (slate-high 9.8 opposing fast-break points per game). Shekinna Stricklen fits the bill on both fronts and has chucked up 10.5 three-point shots per game in the two previous contests versus the Storm. She adds 1.8 fast-break points per contest typically and has averaged 20 points per game, posting two of her three best fantasy efforts of the season, versus the Storm. Alyssa Thomas leads the club with 2.3 fast-break points per game (tied with Courtney Williams) and has also shined bright in previous clashes, averaging 18.5 points and 9.5 boards, including two of her four best fantasy showings of the year.

Seattle clinched a playoff berth Sunday despite losing the Fever, which marked the club's third loss in its last four games. The two team's faced off earlier this month in Connecticut and the Storm lost by just a point, so they should certainly have a fighter's chance in the rematch. Connecticut's defensive profile is among the league's best, with no one area coming in as a particular weakness. Yet, opposing teams have somehow shot 43.2 percent against them (tied for third-best on slate), partially thanks to 19.2 assists (fourth-most). Jordin Canada leads the way for Seattle in that category, notching 5.0 per game and is coming off of 20 helpers in the last two games. She has yet to face the Sun this season. Natasha Howard has unsurprisingly paced the Storm in the previous two games, averaging 23.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 assists. Jewell Loyd is the only other Storm player to average double digits in previous matchups.
