The Skinny

Kicking off the night is what is expected to be the lowest-scoring of the three contests on the tilt, though with Connecticut expected to churn out just 79.75 and Phoenix at 81.75. Likely factoring into that is the Sun's slow pace (ninth in the league) and two defensive efficiencies that each rank in the top seven, the only game with two teams seventh or better in that area, and the fact that the two teams just faced each other Monday and may be familiar with each other's game plan. For the Mercury, they may need to prepare for a heavy usage from geyond the arc, as opponents typically attempt 32.4 percent of their shots from beyond the arc, tied for second on the slate with Atlanta's opponents. Looking to take advantage on that front will be Diana Taurasi (8.8 3PA per game) and Skylar Diggins-Smith (5.2 3PA per game), the team's two primary shooters from beyond the arc. Taurasi managed 19 points in the first contests betwen the two Monday, aided by 10 free-throw attempts, but she only connected on one of her nine shots from deep. An improvement in that area Wednesday could yield an even bigger number in the scoring column. The statuses of Kia Vaughn and Alanna Smith should also be monitored, as they could wind up in minutes shifted one way or the other in the frontcourt.

The Sun may also look beyond the arc for some production, as opponents are knocking down 7.3 three-point attempts per contest. Opponents are also boarding the ball resasonbaly well against the them, with the Mercury bringing down only 49.1 percent of board opportunities. Connecticut doesn't shoot the ball particularly well from beyond the arc, but it's DeWanna Bonner who leads the team in three-point makes (1.3) and attempts (4.9) and sits second in rebounds per contest (7.7) behind Alyssa Thomas (8.6). The same two accounted for a combined 17 boards on Monday. With Jasmine Thomas set to miss Wednesday's rematch Natisha Hiedeman and Kaila Charles are candidates to see additional playing time and subsequent gains in fantasy totals.

The Skinny

The last time the Sky faced the Dream, it was an extremely one-sided affair, with Chicago pulling away early and never looking back to cruise to a 25-point win. However, that was without Chennedy Carter in the backcourt for the Dream. Carter has seemingly finally regained her legs following an extended layoff due to an ankle injury, playing more than 30 intes for the first time since her return in Saturday's game versus the Aces. She's had four days to rest from that, so there's plenty of reason to believe she can match that playing time Wednesday. She's attempted at least 15 shots in each of the last four games. Considering the Sky opponents attempt a slate-low 26.9 percent of their shots from distance, and it accounts for just 29.1 percent of opposing team's scoring outputs, also a slate-low mark. That bodes well for Carter and Courtney Williams, who rely minimally on deep shots for their scoring totals.

Chicago is expected to post the highest scoring total of the night at 88.75, and it's not exactly surprising considering both teams play at top-5 paces in the league, Chicago's offenseive efficiency sits in the top half, and Atlanta's defense is second-worst on the slate to just the Wings. Atlaanta coughs up a whopping 88.4 points per game to the opposition, backed by north of 20 assists per game and a slate-high 8.1 three-point makes. Due to the blowout nature of the last contest, starters didn't play a ton, but Cheyeene Parker (17), Courtney Vandersloot (14), Allie Quigley (14) and Kahleah Copper (11) all managed to hit double figures, with parker doing so in just 20 minutes. Parker has picked up the pace recently as well, notching double-doubles in two of her last three games. Given the up-tempo pace of the contest and the Dream's offensive innefficiencies (11th in the league), there could be plenty of cleanup opportunities on the boards.

The Skinny

Seattle enters the night s the biggest favorite on the slate, and it's not a big surprise given that the Storm cruised by Dallas the last time the two met by 18 points.Paving the way for Seatle was Breanna Stewart, who finished with 21 points, six boards and hree assists despite playing only 24 minutes in the game. Alysha Clark also supplied 15 points and seven boards and Jewell Loyd collected 12 and 6 to round out the team's duouble-digit scorers. Stewart is a fairly safe bet to compile another strong showing Wednesday againt the slate's worst rebounding and least efficient defensive team. Dallas also sends its opponents to the free-throw line a slate-high 21.1 times per game, which bodes well for Stewart and Jewell Loyd. Loyd could be a particularly attractive option for daily purposes Wednesday if Jordin Canada can' go, as it would mean more time on the ball for her. Sue Bird would be another logical candidate for a slight bump in production again.

Dallas had a tough time finding the bottom of the bucket the last time the two clubs met, finishing with a season-low 65 points. Arike Ogunbowale still displayed some efficiency from the field in that one, knocking down eight of her 14 shots and four of her six attempts from deep, so Seattle may adjust its game plan to focus on her a bit more the second time around. Alisha Gray and Marina Mabrey were the only other two to top 10 points in the previous clash, though neither was particularly efficient from the field. There is a chance this game gets out of hand in a similar fashion as the last one, which could then pit Dallas starters against Seattle backups and a bit more forgiving garbage time outputs simlar to the last time they played. However, the Wings are certainly not a team you'll want to load up on Wednesday.
