The Skinny

Leading off the night Wednesday is the highest expected overall score at 167 between the Sky and the Lynx. While both clubs currently sit at an enviable 11-5 record on the campaign, they are currently going through some injury adversity. Chicago recently lost both Azura Stevens (knee) and Diamond DeShields (thigh), with Stevens already ruled out for hte year and DeShields likely on the same path given that she left the bubble. The regular rotation has absorbed both of the minutes, with Kahleah Copper, Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley all seeing expanded playing time. The same can be said for Gabby Williams, but her playing time dropped Monday with a move to the bench in favor of Ruthy Hebard. Hebard took advantage of the opportunity to collect her first career double-double, though it may be difficult to replicate that against a sound rebounding team in the Lynx (52.6 rebound percentage, highest on slate). The fact that Minnesota sports the slowest pace on the slate and that the two both rank in the top half in defensive efficiency may be worth keeping in mind when considering this contest, though the others feature teams within a similar range. Opponents typically chuck up a high volume of threes versus the Lynx, so that may give a minor injection of fantasy value to Quigley and Vandersloot, who is coming off of a record-breaking 18 assists against the Fever.

Chicago's up-tempo pace should pay dividends for Minnesota and there are some areas for the Lynx to take advantage of. In particular, centers have had their way with the Sky this season, averaging league-best marks for points (16.8) and rebounds (10.0). Napheesa Collier and Damiris Dantas fit that mold and may be able to take advantage of the Sky on the inside, especially with Stevens, tied with Cheyenne Parker of the team lead in rebounds per game (5.9), out of commission. Collier likely receives a slightly larger boost than Dantas given her lesser reliance on the three-point shot to produce. Odyssey Sims has increased her shot volume in a major way recently and averaged north of 14 points per contest. She may be worth the risk as a high-upside candidate despite a lackluster showing in her first start of the campaign Monday.

The Skinny

The second contest on the slate pits the Wings against the Sparks in a battle that came down to the wire on Aug. 23, with the Sparks emerging victorious by a measley three points. Candace Parker owned the glass in that contest, finishing with a season-high 14 boards. With the team's second-leading rebounder in Nneka Ogwumike set to miss the contest, Parker could see similar numbers around the rim versus a Wings squad that struggles to clean the glass. An interesting candidate to pick up the pace and potentially start for the Sparks is Kristine Anigwe, who has collected a combined 17 points and 12 boards over the last two games with Ogwumike sidelined. Should she get a look in the starting five (or even if not), she's worthy of fantasy consideration at a fairly low value on both sites. Brittney Sykes pieced together a season-high 23 points against the Wings last week on a season-high 15 shot attempts.

On the other side of the coin, the Wings may be looking to take advantage of Ogwumike's absence on the boards, potentially opening more opportunities for rookie Satou Sabally, who has averaged north of 10 rebounds in her three games since returning from injury. She may also be looked to more on the offensive end Wednesday if Arike Ogunbowale, who is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, is unable to suit up. Sabally is averaging 23 points over the last two games after struggling in her first game back from injury. Marina Mabrey and Tyasha Harris are also candidates to see increased action and fantasy value Wednesday if Ogunbowale sits.

The Skinny

Washington has hit the skids of late, lsoing four straight games and the last two by double digits. That doesn't bode well against a Seattle squad that sports the legue's best efficiency on both ends of the floor. As a result, we get a 15-point expected spread and significant blowout potential. Seattle's 88-point expected total is justified, though it's worht noting thata the Mystics had their number earlier this season in an 18-point victory. However, given the state of the two clubs at this point, it's fairly safe to assume a repeat isn't on tap. Washington is particularly forgiving from beyond the arc, surrendering a slate-high 8.3 three-point makes and 39.7 conversion rate to its oponents. Sue Bird, who is expected to return Wednesday Breanna Stewart, Jewell Loyd and Sami Whitcomb are all major players from beyond the arc who could taeke advantage of that. As the team's leading rebounder, Stewart is also in a good spot to rack those up versus the least-efficient offense on the slate. Natasha Howard and her 7.3 boards per contest may also be in play.

For Washington, it's about looking for diamonds in the rough as a tough task awaits. One of the primary candidates for FanDuel lineups is Kiara Leslie, who is seemingly undervalued at 3,300 despite playing norht of 20 minutes and turning in double-digit fantasy scoring efforts in each of her four games since returning from injury. Three-point shooting also tends to be emphasiczed against the Storm, whose opponents top the slate charts with 2.7 attempts per game from beyond the arc. That held true the last time the two clubs met, when Ariel Atkins turned in 22 points on the back of 10 three-point attempts. She may be looked to again Wednesday for a big effort.
