Weekly Pitcher Rankings: No Joke, Opening Day is Almost Here

Weekly Pitcher Rankings: No Joke, Opening Day is Almost Here

This article is part of our Weekly Pitcher Rankings series.

Unless this is the greatest April Fool's hoax pulled off in the history of mankind, Opening Day is finally here! Get ready for 26-plus weeks of constantly changing pitching plans. As always, the RotoWire staff has your back with the best probable-pitching grid in the business. I'll do my best to refresh these weekly rankings with the most recent information before Monday lineup lock each week.

As will be explained in this week's Z Files, managing pitching in 2021 will be more about focusing on solid matchups than bullying two-start pitchers. As such, early on, the weekly rankings will favor ERA and WHIP a tad more than wins and whiffs. Later, the focus will flip-flop. From a strategic perspective, you want to build a solid ratio foundation, then stream more liberally later if there are points to be had in win and strikeouts.

The four-day and 11-day rankings are presented below. The standard Monday-Sunday version will be commence on Saturday. Apologies for the lack of comments this week, once games start, they will be more plentiful.

Good luck this season!
